The Hernando Band Program serves as the source of instrumental music instruction for all students in grades 6-12 at Hernando Middle School and Hernando High School in Hernando, Mississippi.
The program consists of several ensembles, providing the students with many different avenues for making music. These ensembles include The Hernando High School Marching Band, three high school concert bands, the Hernando 8th Grade Concert Band, two jazz bands, two winter guards, two indoor percussion ensembles, and two indoor wind groups, as well as band classes at the 6th and 7th grade levels.
All together, these ensembles perform and compete at a variety of events throughout Mississippi and around the country. Students from the Hernando Band Program have participated in BOA, WGI, SCGC, and DCI as well as the Mississippi Lions All-State Band and the Mississippi All-State Concert Band.
Simply put, our mission is devoted to our students--making the most of their musical talent and helping each child achieve his or her goals.
We hold ourselves to a high standard. With hard work and dedication, we strive to be the best at what we do and represent our school in a positive way.
